Frequently Asked Questions
Clear, transparent answers about how Setu protects your phone number, withstands Indian summers, and works without app downloads.
Setu Smart Vehicle QR Tag
UV-Resistant • 3M Windshield Adhesive • Zero App Required
Contact & How It Works
Why shouldn't I just keep a handwritten paper slip on my dashboard?
Paper slips fly off, fade under sunlight, look messy on a nice car, and force bystanders to manually type 10 digits into their phone. Setu gives you a clean, executive all-weather tag where anyone can connect via WhatsApp or direct call in 1 tap without typing.
How does someone reach me when they scan my tag?
When someone scans your vehicle tag with their phone camera, they see quick 1-tap options: Direct Phone Call, or a pre-filled WhatsApp alert (like 'Car is blocking', 'Headlights on', 'Window open', or 'Car being towed'). Zero app download is required.
Is Setu active for my car's lifetime?
Yes! Setu is a one-time purchase of ₹99 with lifetime validity. There are no monthly or annual subscription fees, renewal charges, or hidden maintenance costs.
Does the person scanning my tag need an app?
No app required for the scanner. Any standard smartphone camera (iPhone, Android, or Google Lens) opens the contact page directly in the mobile browser within seconds.
Product & Setup
Does Setu Tag interfere with FASTag, dashcams, or windshield sensors?
Not at all. Setu Tag is an optical QR sticker with automotive 3M adhesive. It does not use RFID chips or magnetic materials, so it causes zero interference with FASTag scanners, automatic toll gates, ADAS sensors, or dashcams.
Will the QR tag fade or peel off in Indian weather?
No. Setu tags are built with durable, all-weather materials designed specifically for Indian road conditions. They withstand harsh summer heat, heavy rain, and car washes.
Will the adhesive leave sticky residue on my windshield?
No. The automotive glass adhesive sticks firmly to windscreens but can be removed cleanly without leaving sticky glue residue or damaging your glass.
What if my car has windshield sun-control tint or ceramic film?
Setu sticks securely on the inside or outside of the glass with transparent automotive-grade acrylic adhesive, ensuring high visibility without bubbling or damaging sun film.
Can I use Setu on motorcycles, scooters, or helmets?
Yes! Setu is compact and weatherproof. You can stick it on bike fairings, fuel tanks, or helmets for quick emergency contact.
Scanning & Zero-App Workflow
How does Setu Tag help if my car is in a towing zone or blocking someone?
When a traffic crane or blocked neighbor arrives, anyone can scan your tag in 2 seconds. You receive an instant WhatsApp alert with exact GPS coordinates ('🚨 Traffic crane arriving at CP Outer Circle') so you can move your car immediately before fines or towing charges are levied.
What happens if someone scans the tag at night or in a dark basement parking?
Setu Tags are manufactured with high-contrast reflective materials and high-density Level-H error-correction. Even with low ambient light or faint smartphone flash, the QR code resolves in under a second.
Does the person scanning my tag need to download an app?
No app is required for the scanner. Any standard smartphone camera (iPhone, Android, or Google Lens) opens the contact page directly in the browser in under 2 seconds.
Do I need to keep an app open on my phone to receive alerts?
No. Alerts and calls reach you directly through regular phone calls and WhatsApp notifications.
How long does activation take after I receive my physical tag?
Activation takes under 45 seconds. Scan your physical tag, enter your mobile number and vehicle registration number, and your tag is instantly active.
